We farm because we are farmers to the marrow, tied to the land. We learn to weed, pick and plant as we learn to walk and talk. As kids, we learn to sell produce as we begin to tie our shoes. As teenagers, we show off our cool farm to our friends every chance we get. As young adults, we run off to see the world only to find that the farm is where we need to be. We come home so our children too can make mud cakes in the dirt and play in the barn until the mosquitoes chase them inside. Generation after generation, our ultimate wish is to be in the fields.
